30.50Chainrings made for CycloCross and Gravel and Road. Made to perform. Made for awesome shift performance in all conditions – including those requiring durable materials and top craftsmanship. These are the famous WickWerks Cyclocross and Gravel 44/34T Chainrings.
Perfect for those that don’t want to push a bigger ring and want to keep a steady rhythm and cadence.
Our rings work with the Sram 12 speed and other 12 speeds. Here’s a breakdown, the differences are minimal and don’t really matter with most components in most applications. The main difference is the 12 speed chain link plates are thinner so the chain will fit with the 12 speed rear cassettes. The outer ring is also a little closer to the smaller ring with the mounting tabs being a little thinner.
Here’s a breakdown:
Chain Width: A 12-speed chain is narrower than an 11-speed chain. The external width of a 12-speed Shimano chain is approximately 5.25mm, while an 11-speed is approximately 5.62mm, a difference of about 0.37mm.
Internal Chain Width: Interestingly, the inner width of both 11-speed and 12-speed chains, where the chainring teeth fit, is generally the same (around 2.18mm).
Chainring Spacing: Because 12-speed chains are narrower, the chainrings in a 12-speed system are spaced slightly closer together than in an 11-speed system. This difference is minimal, around 0.35mm, with the larger chainring of a 12-speed system being offset inboard by this amount.
Shifting Ramps and Gates: 12-speed chainrings often feature more complex shifting ramps and gates to optimize shifting performance with the narrower 12-speed chain.
Practical Implications:
Compatibility: While a 12-speed chain is slightly narrower, it can generally work with an 11-speed system as the inner width is the same.
Either way you spell it, Cyclocross or Cyclo-cross, as well as Gravel and Road, the fun of the sport is the dread of the drive train. No worries, though. You’ve just found the WickWerks shifting advantage in the form of high-performance chainrings made to shift faster, shift more dependably, and shift even when conditions are rough.
Check out the chainring images, especially the back view to see the radical chain ramps. (We call it BRIDGE Technology.) These are miles ahead of the typical pins used for shifting the chain. These are massive hands held out there to grab the chain and shift it NOW. And notice, there are lots of them — shifting ramps made so your bicycle will shift when you ask it, even in slog of a tough cyclocross race.
These chain rings are becoming a favorite in the cyclocross circles because of their capability. Check out the Riders that use them. They’re well proven by some of the very best.
Cyclocross 44 /34t rings are available for the standard Shimano compatible 110mm BCD, 5-bolt cranks in 10 & 11 speed configurations. They replace all the standard brands. Check out the specs for tooth counts and get just the right rings for your bike.
